Who is this group for?
We have been in operation since Thursday, April 20, 2017. This group for everybody who desire and have a love for travel. This group is also learning enrichment. This group is also for people with disabilities to get out, to have fun, and expand their knowledge while traveling.
Are there set rules for this group?
Yes, they are set rules for the group because we went to do things decent and in order. We also want to be good citizens and we want to invited back to whatever venue and place we go to. Please contact the Founder, Owner, & President.
How often does the group meet?
We basically meet as needed by the Founder, Owner, & President or a planning board member desires to have a meeting. Our meeting is schedule and the location is up to the Founder, Owner, & President, traveler.
How involved do I have to be in the group?
You can contact the Founder, Owner, & President to be involved or come on of our trips, tours, and outings. You can also tell one of the voting traveling member and they will bring it to the Founder, Owner, & President and a planning board member. A member will be voted in a travel meeting. A vote will be taken to approve you as a voting traveling member.
How many travelers generally take your trips?
We have roughly from 1 to 56 people. It depends on the capacity of the bus or van. It also depends on the attendance of the event, venue, and place.
Do you have trained escorts?
No, but if you have a caregiver, friend, godparent, parent, sibling, spouse, and teacher they can come on the trip. They have to pay the deposit for the bus and they have to pay the admission for the event, place, and venue.
Are your coaches accessible?
We currently don't have our own coach but we will have a coach in the future. We basically get a charter bus and make sure that it is wheelchair accessible and mostly the bus only can fit 2 wheelchairs.
Are your coaches air conditioned?
The coaches that we have rented have air conditioning, if not you will be able to pull down the window.
Do you stop for meals & breaks?
If it on the itinerary, we will. We will not make any unnecessary stops unless it is an emergency. We encourage all travelers to use the bathroom, take medications, even for diabetics to adhere to their diet.
Are any meals included in the fare/price?
It depends of the event, venue, conference, convention, and seminar. Far as the dinner theatres and fine dining restaurants that require reservations, it will be included in the price.
How do you determine where we go on trips?
It is determined by the traveler that brings up the trip, tour, and outing. We also determined by the travelers/participants and the Founder, Owner, and President.
Can there be a simpler way for us to communicate other than Zoom?
Yes, we can meet on GotoMeeting, Google Meet, FreeConferenceCall.com, Messenger, StartMeeting, and in persons.
On an average, How many guests travel on your trip/trips?
Roughly from 1 to over 56 people and that depends on the capacity of the motorcoach. Some attractions limit the number of people to come.
What is the average cost of your trips?
It depends on the price of the seats on the bus, the admission to the attraction, the registration fee to the conference, event, conventions/seminar. If there are reservations to any restaurants. If we have to book a hotel room.
Where do I meet the bus? What can I expect of a typical motor coach tour trip?
We typically at the Watertown Plank Park & Ride located at 10600 W. Watertown Plank Rd in Wauwatosa, WI. If we have travelers in Waukesha County we will have use the Gerokes Corners Park & Ride located at 400 N. Barked Rd. in Brookfield, WI. If we go another group as an ambassador to another trip, we will meet at the State Fair Park & Ride located at 8300 W. Alder St. in West Allis, WI. If you have another bus and driving accessible drop-off/pick up location that is safe, you can contact via email at abilitiestravelclub@gmail.com. You would expect a wonderful atmosphere of fellowship and fun. We'll put on a movie and play games. Individuals can choose on what to do, we encourage travelers to bring a book, their phone or electronic devices to keep them occupied. You can bring a friend to talk to or encourage in conversation in others on the bus.
How early should I arrive at the pickup location?
We recommend that you arrive at your pickup point at least 15 to 45 minutes prior to
the departure time.
What is the average distance per trip?
We will travel whatever in the United States.
Do your trips provide handicap access and assistance for handicap individuals?
We sure do. We make that the places we go is handicapped accessible.
Are most of the trips during day or night?
It depends on where we traveling to. We do have day trips and multi-day trips.
Is it safe to bring cash and/or credit cards and are atm machines available on most of your trips?
We encourage all travelers to bring cash and credit cards to pay for admission to the attractions and restaurants. We are not responsibility for any stolen or missing cash/credit cards.
What clothing should I bring on a trip?
The bus/coaches are air-conditioned, so a light sweater may be advisable. If any additional attire is needed on a tour (i.e. formal wear) it will be listed on your tour itinerary. We recommend viewing WTMJ-TV Ch. 4, FOX 6, WISN Ch. 12, CBS 58, and the Weather Channel for accurate weather information, and view the weather in your computer/tablet/phone. If we go swimming, please bring the appropriate swimwear, swim cap, swim goggles, ear plugs, and
towels.
What does Abilities Travel Club do in the event of inclement weather and
national emergencies?
This information will be posted on the Abilities Travel Club Facebook page, group, and Messenger group. The Founder, Owner, and President or a designated person will be picked by the Founder, Owner, and President to call/email/text/inbox travelers about the cancellation. Deposits will not be refunded. The trip or meeting will be rescheduled on an alternate date.
Is there a minimum age on the trips?
Due to the nature of our tours, Abilities Travel Club requires that passengers be at least 4 years of age unless the tour description specifically states the ages that are permitted
on the trip.
How much walking is there on trips?
It depends on the tour we are on. Overall, please wear comfortable walking
shoes.
What kind of carry-on bags can I bring?
You can bring a bag like a backpack, a handbag, and/or tote bag.
